Dann Sherrill

Dann Sherrill is a drummer and world percussionist living in Nashville. A dedicated student of the music and drumming of the African diaspora, Dann is particularly focused on the musical traditions of Cuba and Brazil. He has been blessed to have studied under the some of the best percussionists/drummers in the world. Among them are percussionists Roberto Vizcaino and Miguel Pomier from Cuba, Frankie Malabe from NYC, Alan Dawson from Boston.

Dann’s resume includes the widest possible range of artists and styles. From pop music with Engelbert Humperdinck to Salsa music with Nino Segarra and Maelo Ruiz… R&B with Percy Sledge to Country music with Radney Foster and Mel Tillis… Brazilian music with Oscar Castro-Neves to Nashville’s premier guitarist Guthrie Trapp… Dann has done it all with a high degree of authenticity and integrity.

For many years Dann has demonstrated his great love of all music by passing on what he has learned from many years of touring and playing clubs. He is the author of one of the most highly regarded, exhaustive and best-selling drum instructional programs ever produced called Learn and Master Drums. L&MD features 24 sessions on 12 DVD’s, a one hundred page book and five play-along CD’s and has given countless individuals all over the world the tools to learn how to play the drums.
