Brenda Cashel
Brenda has a doctorate degree in pharmacology, and has always had an interest in how systems in the human body work together and react to stimuli. After receiving her degree she became co-owner of Terrapin Hill Farm which has led her in many different directions, including organic gardener, event organizer, entrepreneur, public speaker, and community organizer. She co-created MYPATH, Kentucky’s first yoga festival, and Rhythm Rising, and helped develop the farm into a successful wedding and event venue.
Brenda was completely new to drumming when a group at the farm started weekly drum circles in 2020. Since then she’s experienced firsthand the joy, relaxation, stress relief, and camaraderie that drumming in a group provides. This led her to explore the ways that drumming is being used as a form of therapy in different settings, and to learn about current research that explains the biological mechanisms that produce these therapeutic results.
